As an undergraduate student at the University of California, Davis, Marisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology. While there, she also competed in the Track & Field program and volunteered at the UCDMC Emergency Department, a Level 1 Academic Trauma Facility.
Marisa continued on at UC Davis in the Physician Assistant program, and received PA certification in 2011. Following completion of her studies, Marisa was honored by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) at their Las Vegas conference, receiving 2nd place in the PAEA/JAAPA National Student Writing Competition.
Marisa has practiced both in Northern California and in Michigan, and recently moved back to the North State after working in Detroit. Her professional expertise includes Orthopaedic Trauma, Sports Medicine, Primary Care and HIV Management. She values communication and patient education and takes pride in making sure patients play an active role in their healthcare. Marisa became a PA to help people improve their quality of life while doing something she loves.
In her spare time Marisa enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new places and playing in dirt.
