Stephen P. Ferraro, MD
Dr. Ferraro graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1982. He earned his medical degree in 1991 from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Harbor – UCLA Medical Center in 1996. Dr. Ferraro spent an additional year of training completing a fellowship in Hand Surgery at Rush Presbyterian – St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.
A member of Shasta Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine since 1997; Dr. Ferraro specializes in disorders of the hand and wrist. He has treated many complex cases such as fracture dislocations, tendon injuries, and Dupuytren’s contracture. In addition, to his interest in hand and wrist disorders, Dr. Ferraro also provides general orthopaedic care.
Dr. Ferraro is an avid basketball player and enjoys many outdoor activities in the Redding area, including mountain biking, wakeboarding and motorcycling. Dr. Ferraro and his wife have six children.
Dr. Ferraro is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also has a subspecialty certificate in Surgery of the Hand (formerly CAQ–Certificate of Added Qualifications). He is the only Board Certified Hand Surgeon in the region.
