Staying hydrated is extremely important if you're an athlete of course, but it's also important for everyone to get enough water no matter who they are. Depending on size, gender, and activity level, the recommended daily amount can vary from 2 liters to 3 or more liters per day for adults. For a lot of people, drinking water isn't at the top of their "most exciting things to do" list, so they need a little extra motivation to get their daily dose.
