Troy Miles, MD

Knee And Hip Surgeon In ReddingDr. Troy A. Miles is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon and a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery who specializes in the treatment of disorders of the shoulder, hip, and knee, including joint replacement and reconstruction, and arthroscopic surgery. He has advanced training in a variety of approaches to joint replacement, including direct anterior hip replacement and minimally invasive techniques.

A Red Bluff native, Dr. Miles graduated with honors from California State University, Chico, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed an internship and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Miles was selected to represent his orthopaedic residency program at the American Orthopaedic Association Resident Leadership Forum in 2014. Following graduation, he went on to a prestigious fellowship in adult joint reconstruction and arthroplasty.

Dr. Miles is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Association, American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the North Pacific Orthopaedic Society. He has lectured at the Annual Meeting of the North Pacific Orthopaedic Society (2013), the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Surgery of the Hand (2014), the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery (2015). Dr. Miles maintains an active interest in academic medicine, continuing as clinical faculty at UC Davis Medical Center and participating in clinical research.

Dr. Miles is excited to bring the latest technology and most advanced techniques in joint replacement surgery to the Redding area. He was drawn to Shasta Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine’s customized patient experience and multidisciplinary approach. With an emphasis on individualized care, Dr. Miles views each one of his patients as a partner. “I see many patients who’ve stopped doing the activities they love–whether that’s golfing, fishing, or hunting,” Dr. Miles says. “Being able to work together and see these patients get back to the activities they love most is why I went into orthopaedics.”

A former varsity athlete at Red Bluff High School, where he played football and soccer, Dr. Miles remains active in golf, snowboarding, and soccer. He is happy to be back home in the North State with his wife and two sons.
