What is Dupuytren’s contracture?

Dupuytren’s contracture is a build up of collagen in the hands. It may begin as nodules, or lumps, below the skin and you may see pitting, or dimpling, on the palm. It eventually forms a “rope-like” cord in the palms. The cord contracts, making the fingers curl inward toward the palm. Your range of motion in your fingers may become limited.
