Michael T. Borrello, MD
Michael T. Borrello is Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Examiners in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He grew up in the Bay Area and attended the University of California Berkeley and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston (1990). He then served as a resident in Anesthesiology at Dartmouth where he also completed a Fellowship in Pain Management (1995). Mike lived in Alaska for 5 years and worked in private practice at the AA Pain Clinic and Alaska Surgery Center in Anchorage. In 2000 he moved to Vermont where he worked at the University of Vermont until 2007. He cofounded the Vermont Interventional Spine Center (VISC) with colleague Dr. Jerry Tarver until 2019.
Dr. Borrello was the Medical Director of the Alaska Surgery Center during some of his time there. He was also the clinic director at the University of Vermont Center for Pain Medicine prior to opening (VISC). He was active in teaching residents and fellows and was involved as an instructor and moderator for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia national meetings for radiofrequency workshops while at UVM. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family especially hiking, kayaking, travel and music.
