Shasta Ortho’s Dr. Schwartz and the Shasta High Snowboard Team
Dr. Schwartz has been the head coach for the Shasta High School Snowboard team since 2000 – 19 years. His team has won the state championship three times, and he has had seven individual state champions.
The alpine team is comprised of ski and snowboard racers from Shasta High School. The team competes in the California/Nevada Interscholastic Ski and Snowboard Federation. This includes high schools from all over the state of California, and also the Tahoe region of Nevada. It is a CIF sanctioned varsity sport. This includes some 28-30 schools from all over the state, and approximately a thousand racers.
